Healing

It is not easy, it will never be. Each wound caused to you comes along with a certain amount of pain, a certain amount of tears too probably. Each wound caused to you, be it internal or external, is an outcome of things not going the way they were planned to go. Each scratch is a memory of how hurt you were when it happened. The worst part of these wounds is the fact that they don't disappear easily. THEY STAY. They make you realize each time as to how you got hurt the last time and why you shouldn't repeat the same thing again.

But shall we stop? Shall we cease doing whatever caused us the wound? Can you stop eating pieces of vegetables and start eating them as a whole just because the last time you held the knife it hurt?
No, right. Similarly, you cannot stop trusting someone because it hurt you the last time you did.

However, as you age, you realize that you cannot stop yourself from getting wounded completely ever. The only thing you can control and have power over is the process or procedure of how you choose to heal that wound. Let me just get you a bit nostalgic here, remember those days when each time you'd hurt yourself as a child from just falling off the swing or having some scars on your knees by brushing them against the ground while chasing your friends who kept running? Do you also remember how your mamma would just clean that wound and sanitize it by applying some antibacterial liquid while it'd burn so she'd also pretend to blow some air onto that wound?

This exact same thing is what you do each time you are wounded. You take care of it in order to heal. You take care of all the external, visible wounds like your mamma used to but what about those wounds which aren't visible to the naked eye? You take extra effort, extra care. You give it time to heal but you don't neglect it completely either. You take out time for it. You take care of it by treating it with the best you got - maybe your favorite song, favorite dish, favorite movie, favorite ice cream or any other favorites. Even if that doesn't heal you, you could treat yourself with something adventurous like a solo trip or trying out the spiciest dish you were always scared to or doing something which gives your adrenaline a rush. Your inner wounds would always be the hardest and would require most of your efforts to heal. But they'll also lessen up by the simplest things like taking a short trip, getting things done, cleaning your wardrobe, meeting an old friend.

Days later you'd realize that you are healing or have healed when the thought of fear won't grip you while you opt to do the same thing which caused you pain before. You come out braver and stronger and that's when you know YOU'VE HEALED.
